Collagen Matrix for Soft Tissue Reconstruction

biocade® is a sterile, fully resorbable acellular dermal matrix (ADM) designed to reinforce and repair weakened or damaged soft tissue. It provides reliable biological support in plastic, reconstructive, and general surgery—particularly in abdominal wall defects and implant-based breast reconstruction.

Features

Natural porcine collagen matrix with a dermis-like architecture that supports integration and regeneration in soft tissue.
Supports early cell migration and revascularization to contribute to the healing process.
After brief rehydration, it becomes flexible, shapeable, and can be sutured securely.
Provides mechanical reinforcement in weakened or damaged tissue with high tensile and tear strength.
Does not contain preservatives, organic solvents, or chemical cross-linking agents.
Fully resorbable with a predictable resorption profile of up to approximately 6 months.

Indications

Hernia Repair and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction

biocade® is used as a biological reinforcement matrix in abdominal wall defects associated with soft-tissue weakness.
No foreign body reaction, unlike plastic meshes.
Patient preference for regeneration.
Can be used in infected tissue when non-resorbable meshes are contraindicated.

Use in Breast Reconstruction

biocade® may be used as a supportive acellular dermal matrix in implant- or expander-based breast reconstruction.
Provides structural support and additional soft-tissue coverage in the inferior and lateral aspects of the implant pocket.
Acts as a biological matrix around the implant in patients with insufficient soft-tissue support.
Helps maintain breast contour and symmetry by providing stable reinforcement.

Microstructure (SEM)

The homogeneous and porous collagen microstructure of biocade® supports cell migration and tissue integration.
